Opening ceremony with Moët & Chandon as the official champagne
The Festival del film Locarno will open its doors officially on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. After the film in Piazza, the exclusive opening party will follow. As official Champagne partner Moët & Chandon is one of the hosts and will welcomes guests in the garden of a villa on the shores of Lake Maggiore, where the stars will toast under the stars with the Mini Moët to the 68th edition of the festival.
In 2015 the Mini Moët came on the market, not only the new mini-bottle was introduced, but also an exquisite special accessory, such as the Mini Flûte. A fresh and glamorous way to toast an important moment with a glass of champagne.
The "Excellence Award Moët & Chandon" 2015 goes to: Edward Norton
The "Excellence Award Moët & Chandon" will be awarded this year as part of the 68th Festival del film Locarno to the outstanding actor Edward Norton for his many impulses and artistic influences on contemporary cinema. As well as 40 awards and 98 nominations Norton was nominated three times for an Oscar in the category "Best Supporting Actor" for the films "Twilight" (1997) and "Birdman" (2015) as well as "Best Actor" in "Amercian History X" ( 1999) suggested. His film career includes different genres, including international blockbusters like "Fight Club", "Frida" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel", but also worked with cult directors such as Woody Allen in "Everyone Says I Love You" or Spike Lee in "25 hours". In the film "Believe everything," he even directed it . He owes his popularity to his ability to portray the different characters, both in culture and in blockbuster movies which attracts different groups of viewers.

I am convinced that his presence at the ceremony in 2015 will have a decisive impact and give the audience the opportunity to become acquainted with the Hollywood of the 21st century, and one of its most interesting representatives. " said Carlo Chatrian, artistic director of the festival.
Nadine Fau, managing director of Moët Hennessy Suisse SA added: "Edward Norton is a very talented actor who has impressed us in his long career with exciting and in-depth character interpretations. We feel therefore honored to be able to reward him with the Moët & Chandon Excellence Award. »
With the "Excellence Award" actresses and actors are awarded at the Locarno Film Festival for their special talents and achievements.
Past winners of the Excellence Award include Susan Sarandon, John Malkovich, Michel Piccoli, Isabelle Huppert, Gael García Bernal and, in 2014, Juliette Binoche and Giancarlo Giannini. Moët & Chandon is supporting the award for the seventh consecutive year.
