WELLA Professionals at MILAN FASHION WEEK

Eugene Souleiman Global Creative Director for Care & Styling for Wella Professionals developed and styled the hair looks of top designers at this year's spring / summer shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
The backstage of Blumarine and MSGM in Milan gave some great hints to understand the hair trend for  Spring / Summer  2016.

"Minimalist SEXY at Blumarine"

For the Blumarine collection S / S 2016 Eugene wanted to create a look that was a counterpart to the ultra-feminine, floral aesthetics - a little harder and rough, with a slightly disheveled structure.

"One can recognize  a the look of Brooke Shields and Jerry Hall from the 80s, but with grunge character and  a cool - modern, contemporary style. It's not about perfection - the look is to look like a style that was once perfect, but after a few days just looked relaxed ."

Styling

For the basic texture Eugene used EIMI Perfect Setting into damp hair and then brushed it with his hands to the side of the face He divided the hair into two vertical sections in the back, which he twisted in and sprayed with EIMI Stay Essential hairspray. Then they were pinned up on the head and blow-dried dry.

"The hair has a texture with a soft, natural wave, without that it looks as if it had been curled. In principle, the hair itself acts as a curler - it is twisted in itself to give rise to the movement and texture in a natural way ".

After drying, the hair was dissolved. Using your fingers Eugene loosened it up to bring in air and to create a tousled volume. Then he gave even more hairspray on the approach to achieve the wet look. With the palm of your hand while the hair was tightly deleted backwards. In the length he used the EIMI Dry Me Dry Shampoo for additional volume and texture.

"SKATER GIRL STYLE at MSGM"

So it  looks  as if every detail of the look has been carefully and pieced together as if it has always been the absolute opposite of "cool". For the catwalk show of the Spring / Summer collection 2016 Eugene Souleiman got the inspiration from the look of effortless cool skater girls with a charm of transparency and a slightly deranged appearance.

"When it comes to the look of not wanting to force anything. The style should look as if it had been created on the beach - without a mirror. As if the hair was Windswept and therefore looks somewhat imperfect but beautiful at the same time. "

Styling

For this style, Eugene initially worked with hidden braids to take the hair its natural volume and weight. Then a  hair section of 4 cm from above of the ear  up to   the back of the head and right up to the opposite ear was tightly braided.

"We wanted to create a thin, delicate silhouette. Therefore we had the idea to reduce the hair optically, by incorporating these hidden Cornrows under the style. At the same time this element is a braid, which complements the style. "

The hair was first washed with Wella Professionals Element shampoo, to give it a light, freshly washed feeling. After blow-drying the braids were plaited and sprayed  in length with Wella Professionals Element Leave In Spray.  Finally, Eugene used EIMI Dry Me  in the lower layers for a slightly tousled look - as if the hair was dried in the wind.
