Last week I was invited once again by MAC Cosmetics to the opening night of Locarno Film Festival. As a huge fan of MAC and also of the Festival for me it was a match made in heaven. There is always a magical atmosphere in Locarno during the festival which this year has reached its 69th edition and certainly you could feel all the excitment and buzz of the festival's lovers for the opening night.
After arriving in Locarno and checking in at Hotel Belvedere it was time to get changed and get ready for the night. Thankfully I didn't have to take care of my makeup as MAC were brilliant in arranging a special makeup session on site of the Festival. Not just for me of course but also for fellow bloggers invited Milena from diemmemakeup, Regula and Elvira.
The wonderful MAC makeup artists Sheila and Katlyn were there waiting for us. Sheila did a great job as usual on my makeup. We both agreed on a smokey eyes look and in keeping the lips quite natural and nude. I just love the smokey eyes look, I think the look suits me well and it was perfect for a special night such as the one of the Festival.
Sheila used the palette Amber Times Nine to create my wonderful smokey eye look. This palette is one of my favourite as it is very well edited with a colour wave of amber hues which allows for endless shades combinations. It is great for both day and night so it was just the right choice for an event which started in the afternoon but lasted till late at night. Sheila then went to finish off the eye look with the In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara which thanks to its lightweight whipped carbon black formula added volume, extended lenght and created curl. Wonderful! On my cheeks she blended Coppertone and Burnt Pepper powder blushes for a soft but dewy look!
After we were all made to look beautiful thanks to MAC makeup artists it was time to enjoy a delicious aperitivo at the Leopard Club Lounge.
We chatted away while enjoying Moet & Chandon Champagne and the finest Balik Salmon and apetizers.
The excitement for the start of the festival and for the red carpet was definetely rising, walking on that carpet is definetely a moment to remember. Great to share this experience with my friend and fellow blogger Milena which also turned into my photographer for the night so thank you so much Mily, you are a star!
After the red carpet it was time to enjoy the Moet & Chandon Excellence award which this year was handed out to actor Bill Pullman. Fantastic atmosphere on the Piazza Grande!
The screening of the movie premiere "The girls with all the gifts" with Gemma Arterton and Glenn Close was the brave choice of the organizers for the opening night. The movie tells us the story of teacher and a scientist living in a dystopian future which embark on a survival journey with a special girl named Melanie.
After the movie it was time for the official Opening Party of the Festival which once again was set at the beautiful location of the Villa San Quirico in Minusio. It was wonderful to see the cast of the movie and actor Bill Pullman joining the party. A great surprise for all of us.
With Moet & Champagne once again we tossed to the 69th edition of the Festival as we danced the night away!
