For the past 10 years, La Roche-Posay has been devoted to skin cancer. The commitment of the brand continues this year, as this theme is unfortunately still relevant.
Cancer of the skin is a pathology that makes more and more victims in the world: this is the most common cancer of all especially in Switzerland. Indeed Switzerland remains unfortunately the European country with the highest number of skin cancer cases.
However, 90% of skin cancers can be cured if they ar detected early enough. Prevention is therefore key so that everyone good weapons to prevent and fight against skin cancer.
For this reason, the La Roche-Posay laboratory has been involved in the prevention of skin cancer in Switzerland. In 10 years 11,000 moles were checked by dermatologists, 8500 online, on the site
Myskincheck.ch, and 2500 in person.
This year, the brand also celebrates its 10th anniversary of the collaboration with Prof. Dr. Reinhard Dummer, Deputy Director of the Dermatologist Clinic at the University Hospital of Zurich and director of the
skin cancer centre. Thanks to the support of Prof. Dr Dummer, the website myskincheck.ch also celebrates 10 years.

In 2017, the Skin Checker initiative is once again talking about it with a new educational video.
La Roche-Posay has been working closely with dermatologists for more than 30 year and with its program "Protect your skin", the laboratory again bring the attention to the importance of protecting themselves from the sun by launching among others "MY UV PATCH ", the first UV sensor that can be worn on the skin. MY UV PATCH is a real-time measurements of UVA and UVB rays accumulated over several hours and several days. Connected to smartphones via the application, MY UV PATCH is available on Android and iOS. MY UV PATCH is the first flexible skin sensor that monitors exposure to UV and indicates the good manners to adopt in the sun. The transparent patch with sensors shows the different levels of exposure to
Sun. The photosensitive data are then transmitted to the application, which analyze and gives the user personalized advice adapted to its level of risk, type of skin and the UV index used. Ultra light and water resistant, the patch holds up to five days on the body part of your choice.
