Locarno 70 pays hommage to José Luis Alcaine

On Thursday, August 10th  Film Festival Locarno will pay hommage to the director of photography José Luis Alcaine with the Vision Award Ticino Moda, a prize dedicated to those who with their own talent have been able to draw new perspectives in the world of cinema.
José Luis Alcaine, with his strong colors, a photograph designed to exalt the forms and credible even when extreme in contrasts, has collaborated with some of the most important and influential authors of national and international cinema. Five films by Pedro Almodóvar: from the cult Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (1988), Átame! (1989), La mala educacíon (2004) to La piel que habito (2011) and Volver (2006). In the 1980s, he participated in many Spanish filmmaking, El sur (Victor Erice, 1983)  Tasio (Montxo Armendáriz, 1984), Los paraísos perdidos (Basilio Martín Patino, 1985) to El Viaje to Ninguna Parte (Fernando Fernán Gómez, 1986).
José Luis Alcaine will receive the TicinoModa Vision Award at Piazza Grande on Thursday, 10th of August. He will also hold a Master Class on Friday August 11th at the PalaVideo at 3:30 pm. The tribute will be followed by the screening of the films La piel que habito (Pedro Almodóvar, 2011), Passion (Brian De Palma, 2012), Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (Pedro Almodóvar, 1988) and Belle Epoque (Fernando Trueba, 1992).
