The unique coastal landscape of Croatia is one of the longest in Europe and is a paradise for every sailor. Not only for the length of the coast, but also for the 1,500 islands and bays of the mainland which give yachtsmen excellent opportunities for anchoring and staying overnight. In addition, there are Croatian marinas and moorings on the islands, or in larger cities. They are all safe places and provide excellent service and useful support for the onward journey. But let's not forget food- at numerous piers sailing enthusiasts can enjoy the Croatian cuisine in restaurants and small taverns.
It is really difficult to make a choice between the charming islands towns and the beautiful moorings in the Croatian Adriatic because each bay is unique in its own way. Two of the most famous sailing areas on the Adriatic coast of Croatia are Kvarner and Dalmatia.
Region Kvarner
Kvarner is known for its diverse landscape: the combination of sea, islands and the hinterland make this region a popular destination all year round with tourism facilities at the highest level. Particularly attractive are the islands of Cres, Lošinj, Krk and Rab, small worlds with their own history, traditions and culture.
The entire Kvarner region is ideal for any sailing holiday: more than 30 docks and 16 marinas with a total of about 5,000 moorings are there for sailors. If you are lucky you might even meet some dolphins along the way.

Volosko
The small fishing village Volosko is one of the most beautiful villages in Croatia and will give a warm welcome to any gourmet lover. In the narrow streets, travelers will find old stone houses, authentic restaurants where the freshly caught fish is prepared according to traditional recipes.
Lubenice
On the island of Cres the small town of Lubenice founded in the Middle Ages is situated on a hill not far from one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. The historic old town with its narrow streets and medieval castle is still well preserved.
Opatija
Opatija has a long history as a favorite destination of celebrities. Even in the old days the royals traveled there, thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate in summer and winter to relax in Opatija. In addition to the luxury hotels today the historic villas and houses still form the cityscape. Equipped with wellness oases and swimming pools which have been modernized for relaxing holiday resorts. The Villa Angiolina is one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in the city. The old, historic charm and contemporary lifestyle of the city are still only a walk away through one of the beautiful parks on the twelve kilometer long promenade and the harbor.
Region Dalmatia
Dalmatia is very popular sailing destination for its deeply indented coastline, countless islands and little islands.
The warm sea, the beautiful scenery and the numerous islands make the region an extremely popular holiday destination. The impressive national parks Paklenica, Krka and especially Kornati, a National Park, consisting of 89 uninhabited islands, are among the favorite destinations for sailing in Croatia. Even Dalmatia, the Neretva the province and one of the most beautiful cities in Croatia - Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic also appreciated for its wine, the almond and olive groves.

Hvar
Hvar, also called "the queen" of Dalmatian islands, famous for its vast lavender fields. In June the whole island smells and shines in purple. Hvar is one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world and is especially true in low season as an optimal destination for all nature lovers and hikers. In high season, the town of Hvar is also popular with party goers, as every year the Yacht Week is held there.
Vis
Vis has long been isolated from the outside world and is still an insider tip among sailors. To date is remained authentic and uncrowded, the island with its mysterious charm is especially suited for those who prefer holidays at quiet and remote places.
Lastovo
For sailors Lastovo is an attractive stopover on the way between Split and Dubrovnik. The idyllic little island has been listed by the recognized World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as one of ten Mediterranean Paradise Gardens. Especially for romantics a visit to the bays of Zaklopatica and Skrivena Luka (Portorus) is highly recommended. The nearby island Saplun holds beautiful sandy beaches and bays ready to explore.
Korcula
On the island of Korcula Hiking travelers can go in the footsteps of the famous explorer and pioneer Marco Polo and can also visit his birthplace. The magnificent city of Korcula with its impressive castle and historic city walls bear witness to the long history of the island, which has a long tradition of shipbuilding today.
