ARDBEG PREPARES ITSELF FOR ARDBEG DAY AS THE DISTILLERY LAUNCHES ITS LATEST PUNK ROCK LIMITED EDITION – ARDCORE

Held annually on the last Saturday of the Islay Music and Malt Festival (Fèis Ìle), Ardbeg Day is a worldwide celebration of all things Ardbeg. This year, the event will take place on June 4, and the festivities will take place at the Distillery, online, and at local events around the world. To celebrate the launch of its latest 'punk-turing' limited edition, Ardcore, the Distillery is calling on its fans to rally for the loudest event on the whiskey calendar.

Ardbeg, a Distillery that's had more ups and downs than a punk, presents Ardcore. Created from roasted dark malt – an unconventional choice, and a first for Ardbeg – this spirit focuses on what's happening up front, center stage. Incinerated to exhaustion, the malt is what defines its distinctive profile. Described by Dr. Bill Lumsden as "tasting like a bullet of fire", this delicious and devilish spirit is a product for posterity. Inspired by the easygoing attitude of Ardbeg fans, this whiskey is bottled for them. Arcore also draws inspiration from Islay's unsung punk past, celebrating the characters of "PUNK ELLEN", the supposed nickname for Islay's main port, Port Ellen, in the 1970s.

Colin Gordon, Director of Ardbeg Distillery, said: “This year will be my first physical Ardbeg Day. Whether at the Distillery or at home, we hope that many of you will be ready to party on June 4th."

Dr Bill Lumsden, Head of Distillation and Whiskey Creation at Ardbeg, says: "Ardcore is a whiskey that has its heart on its label - its black heart! Created from roasted dark malt, burnt to the bitter end. exhaustion, this spirit is all about substance, notes of charcoal and sweet smoke give it an intense nose, while powerful notes of anise and dark chocolate make this bottle a product for the biggest fans of Arcore."

Ardcore will be available for purchase from Ardbeg Embassies, Whiskey Specialists, online and the Distillery Visitor Center. Events on Ardbeg Day will comply with local authority guidelines and attendance may be limited for everyone's safety and enjoyment.
