Well, thank you all for taking part and giving me feedback, ideas and inputs to support Ticino you were really helpful!
Ticino as proudly described on Ticino Tourism web page is often referred as "Switzerland's Sunny South with a Meditterean Flair" and it really has something to please everyone! From mountains to lakes in Ticino the clima is always mild and the sun is always shining, at least in our hearts it is!
There is so much choice on places to see and things to do you will be never bored! Whether you are a family a couple, or friends travelling here you will be sure to find the place and the activities to suit your needs.
Nature, relaxation , shopping, culture ..Ticino has really a lot to offer. If you love nightlife Ticino in Summer is pretty lively with its many music festival such as Moon and Stars, Estival Jazz and the famous Locarno Film Festival in August.

A Day in Lugano
Lugano the largest town in Ticino is also my hometown and came up in your comments as one of your favourite places to visit in Ticino.
I would suggest starting taking a trip to Monte San Salvatore or Monte Brè in order to have a great view of the city from above. Then take a walk in the beautiful Parco Ciani to relax, sunbathe and admire the wondertful sub-tropical plants and flowers and then why not take a walk lakeside while enjoying an ice-cream?
Then I would venture in Lugano's old town centre and enjoy a bit of shopping in the famous Via Nassa where local boutiques meet the best Italian designers.
After all the shopping and sight-seeing you will be ready for an aperitif in one of the many bars of the Piazza Riforma and just watch the world go by.
Of course culture is not left forgotten as the new LAC is there to be explored as well as the many city-museum exhibitions. Summer nights in Lugano also mean good music with the many events of its Long Lake Festival and of course Estival Jazz.
Come and visit this beautiful city and enjoy its beauty!
