The first night of the Moon & Stars festival started last night and it was game between Italy and England..no not talking about Euro 2016 but about Italian star Marco Mengoni and English singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding.
The weather couldn't have been better for the opening night of the 13th edition of the popular music festival, which every year brings International music stars to Locarno. In what was a very steamy Piazza Grande, fans couldn't wait for Marco Mengoni to take the stage.
The Italian singer who rose to fame in 2009 thanks to its victory of the Italian Edition of X-Factor certainly didn't disappoint as he performed some of its hits such as "Parole in circolo", "Essere umani" and "Pronto a correre". He then literally sent the fans into delirium with "L'Essenziale" one of its biggest hits and also the song which gave him the San Remo Festival victory in 2013. Bravo Marco!
Then it was time for Ellie Goulding to get on stage and the English singer certainly managed to pump up the heat even more, as she got the whole Piazza dancing to her hits such as "Something in the way you move", "Burn" and "Love me like you do" the song which added to the success of "Fifty shades of Grey" in 2015.
Ellie not only sang but also performed some great dance moves, played guitar and drums.. wow! Currently on her Delirium World Tour which will last until October 2016 Ellie has performed at some of the world's biggest festivals such as Coachella, Glanstonbury and Lollapalooza therefore it was an honour to have her perform in Locarno!
