#LOCARNO69: here are the winners of the Open Doors Hub 2016

The winners of the co-production platform Open Doors Hub have been announced at Locarno Film Festival.

The Open Doors Hub aims to bring together the project-holders (director/producer) from the eight countries with potential partners, encouraging international collaborations and financing. 

Open Doors is an initiative supported by the Swiss Foreign Ministry’s Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), organized in close collaboration with the Locarno Festival's Industry Office.

This year  has seen the launch of a three-year cycle that Open Doors will devote to eight countries in southern Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The Open Doors jury has decided to award the following prizes to some of these projects to support production or development: 

Open Doors Grant (50,000 CHF)
A prize funded by the Open Doors initiative in collaboration with the Municipality of Bellinzona and the Swiss fund for production support Visions Sud Est, financed by the Swiss Foreign Ministry’s Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC):

Production Grant (30,000 CHF)

THE RED PHALLUS by Tashi Gyeltshen, Bhutan

CNC  Prize (8,000 Euro)
SEASON OF DRAGONFLIES (JHYALINCHA) by Abinash Bikram Shah, Nepal

ARTE International Open Doors Prize (6,000 Euro)
