Let's dream about sandy beaches.. those of Croatia!

Let's bring a bit of sunshine in these greys April's days dreaming about some sandy beaches.. and why not plan our next holiday? Did you know that Europe's most beautiful beach is located on Vis in Croatia?The beach Stiniva on the island of Vis has been awarded by the  European Best Destinations organization as  "Best beach in Europe 2016".
 On Vis in central Dalmatia hiding the small, cup-shaped pebbly beach Stiniva between high cliffs and you only get a view of the open sea through a narrow crevice . In addition to the award winning beach Stiniva, in Croatia you can find many other beautiful beaches with crystal clear water. Whether families with children, couples or partygoers - in Croatia, everyone can find a beach to suit their taste.

Here eight beaches  among the most beautiful in Croatia:

# 01 Stiniva - Island Vis: The beach Stiniva on the island of Vis is the secret jewel of Croatia. Located in the southern part of the island, the small beach Vis is connected only by a very narrow gap of about five meters to the open sea, so that yachts can hardly get through. Since there is no road to the bay, you can only access it  through a narrow steep path or with one of the local taxi boats from the bay Rukavac. This hidden by nature and almost hardly accessible beach is the perfect place for unforgettable moments.





# 02 Zlatni Rat - island of Brac: The beach Zlatni Rat is the highlight of the Croatian coast. It is located near Bol on the island of Brac. The long  horn shaped pebble beach extends far out to sea and is therefore known as the "Golden Horn". Due to the ideal wind conditions it is one of the favorite places for surfers of any kind. The crystal clear water and the gravel soil make the beach also a perfect place for snorkeling. Zlatni Rat offers both relaxation on the beach and water activities. The beach is accessible by car or on foot, and during the summer months you can also access it by tourist trains and boats.







# 03 Sakarun - Dugi Otok Island: The beach Sakarun lies in the northern part of the Dalmatian island of Dugi Otok. With its 800-meter-long white sand beach and the turquoise waters it is definitely worth a visit. Because of the shallow water Sakarun is very popular with families, since even small children can easily play in the water. Behind the beach there is a pine forest giving a pleasant shade in summer. The beach restaurants are renowned for their local cuisine and the adjoining cocktail bars round out the culinary offerings perfectly. In the evening it is worth to taste the fine specialties in the local gourmet hotspots.






# 04 Vela plaža, Baska - Krk Island: The island of Krk is one of the most popular destination in the Kvarner Bay. Scenic places, pebble beaches, natural bays and colorful landscapes characterize the island of Krk. The town of Baska is located on the southern coast of the island and is known for its beach Vela Plaza. Due to the high water quality and cleanliness of the beach it has been awarded with the Blue Flag. The almost two-kilometer-long beach Vela Plaza is one of the favorite places for families and children and is surrounded by bars with music, restaurants and places to relax. Sports lovers will enjoy pedal boat, beach volleyball, water slides and many other activities.





# 05 Lubenice - Cres: The highlight of the island of Cres is this hidden beach, which is located below the village odfLubenice. The views from the steep cliff to the white pebble beach seems like one from a picture book and can be reached only on foot or by boat. The beach is a hidden gem that only a few people know. A perfect place to enjoy nature,  to relax and to get away from the bustle of the world.





# 06 Rajska plaža, Lopar – Island Rab : The beach Rajska on the island of Rab is literally a "paradise beach". It covers approximately two kilometers and is located in Lopar, the northern part of the island. The sandy beach, crystal clear water, the green headlands and high-quality offer for turist are among the reasons why it was awarded the Blue Flag. Especially families with children will love the sand, the shallow waters and the water slides. Fine local food cafes, restaurants and bars provide a good gastronomic offer.










# 07 Saplunara - Mljet Island: The island of Mljet is a true gem among the pristine natural landscapes of Croatia. The beach Saplunara is located on the eastern tip of the island. It covers approximately one kilometer and is surrounded by dense pine wood. There are no restaurants or hotels, but some local hotspots offer typical Croatian food, offering meat and grilled fish dishes. Saplunara is easily accessible by taxi or bus from Sobra. The beach is ideal for travelers who are looking for rest and relaxation. Sports fans can rent canoes, snorkeling, kayaking or explore the island by bike or on a hike.






# 08 Kraljičina Plaža - Nin: Known as Kraljičina Plaža or as "Queens beach" this sandy beach is located in Nin on the Dalmatian coast. The beach with views of the mountains, with its shallow water, the sandbanks and the warm temperatures is ideal for families with children. Sports such as beach volleyball, kiting, wind-surfing and badminton can be played everywhere on the beach. There are many bars and restaurants along the beach. Visitors come to Nin, to get away from traffic and crowds to enjoy the untouched nature. Therefore, it is no surprise that Nin is one of Europe's most romantic destinations.
