My stay at Marktgasse Hotel

This week while in Zurich I had the pleasure to spend a night at Marktgasse Hotel. It is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the historic old town.
The building which hosts the hotel dates back to 1291 making it one of the oldest inn in Zurich, following an extensive renovation which took place from 2013 to 2015 the hotel boasts a modern and eccletic design while also keeping historic details.
Not far from Bellevue and Central making it therefore the perfect choice if you are looking to visit the city. Just a short walk from the lake and the Limmat River you will enjoy a stroll in the lively Niederdorf district which is full of boutiques, cafés and art galleries.
The 39 rooms of the hotel are individually furnitured and therefore truly unique. The one we stayed was really impressive, I really like the minimalistic but chic style with beautiful designer pieces of furniture. The oak parquet is just stunning and that is something you will find in each room. The bathroom is spectacular, really loved the monochrome style and the mosaic tyles, so classy! I really enjoyed taking a bath in the huge bathtube with the exclusive Aesop products offered by the hotel.
I really appreciated the free wifi offered by the Hotel as well as free drinking water and coffe which you can get yourself from the reception at any time of the day which made my working hours much more enjoyable.
Breakfast was also a true pleasure at the Delish Bar, where you can fill up the energy for the day with a huge selection of both cold and warm food such as porridge, fruit salad, eggs and croissants. Fresh juices and coffes are also served.
If you are looking for a room in Zurich with charm in the heart of Zurich then Marktgasse Hotel is your choice!
